Newsletter N0 10. Term 3, 2007/8

7th January 2008

Dear parents,

Happy New Year! The Christmas holiday seemed to pass by very quickly, but hopefully you have all had a chance to ‘recharge the batteries’ for the new term. Welcome back, everyone, particularly Mrs. Watts, who has now recovered from her leg injury.

Several children have been poorly over the holidays and you may have read in the press about the nasty flu and sickness bugs that are affecting so many people at the moment. Apparently both illnesses are very contagious, so please can I ask you to keep your child at home if they are at all unwell, and not to send them back to school until they have been symptom-free for 48 hours. For our part, we are being vigilant at school about hand washing etc., and are doing our best to ensure that the children wear their coats when outside.

There are several exciting new ventures planned for 2008, including the drama clubs, the first of which take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week. If you have signed up but are unsure which group your child is to attend, Mrs. Cox has a list in the office.

Thank you very much to parents who have paid their school fund for the year. We are very fortunate to have staff  who plan such a wide variety of activities for the children, often spending their own time shopping for materials. The school fund is used to pay for this equipment, and really helps in terms of providing cash to buy things for the children to use. Please send your contribution in as soon as possible if you haven’t already done so.

There will be no swimming tomorrow, as sessions start next week. I will send a letter home with dates and details of fees shortly.

Just a reminder that the last day of this term for the children will be Thursday 14th February, as we have a staff Inset day on Friday 15th.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Jane Hewitt
