20 Oct 2009 - Safety Week

As part of our learning about safety, we were fortunate to have the police visit us last week. They visited each class to talk to the children about ‘keeping safe’.

The children discussed  issues such as ‘stranger danger’.

They were also allowed to have a good explore of the police car and activate it’s very noisy siren!

Class 3 have been learning about road safety this week. They looked at the government website campaign, ‘Tales of the Road’ and used this as inspiration for their own short animations.

There were three themes for the children to explore: ‘Stop, Look and Listen’, ‘Be Bright, Be Seen’ and ‘Find a Safe Place to Cross’.

Using one of these themes, the children worked in groups to create their own short animated film. They thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, learning new skills and reinforcing their knowledge of road safety in the process!
