NEWSLETTER No.1/TERM 6
15th June 2007
Dear parents,
Just to let you know that next week we are taking part in two exhibitions! The first is an exhibition of work that has been done by children from all the small school in the area, as part of the English heritage project. As you know, the project has involved a variety of creative activities for the children over the last two years, including dance, music, sculpture, orienteering, debating, printing, painting, drawing and environmental studies. The main theme of the project has been to help the children learn about their cultural heritage and the immediate environment. They have produced some brilliant art work, and the exhibition gives us the opportunity to celebrate our achievements, alongside children from other schools. Please find attached a flyer for this event. I do hope you will be able to go along.
The second exhibition is as a result of our work with Friends of the Earth during Green Week. The FOE are mounting a public exhibition to encourage people to be more aware of ?green? issues, and have asked us and one other school to contribute. The exhibition is taking place next Saturday, 23rd June, in Downend Church Hall. I will put up a poster next week giving directions.
I think we can be proud of the wide ranging achievements of our children. For such a small school we seem to have a lot to celebrate!
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Jane Hewitt
