NEWSLETTER No.2/TERM 6
29th June 2007
Dear parents,
Firstly, well done to all the children who took part in the Festival of Youth Sport last Saturday. You all carried on the school tradition of being brilliant ?team players?, having a go at new things with a really good sporting attitude. Thanks, too, to the parents who stayed to support the children. I am sure you will all join me in thanking Mrs. Warnock for organising our part in the event and giving up her Saturday. I think she should have a medal, too!
Our two exhibitions were very successful, too. The cluster schools? exhibition was a colourful celebration of all the small schools working together, whereas the Friends of the Earth one really demonstrated our own prowess as a small school! Feedback from the organiser was that everyone was impressed by the range and quality of the work produced by our children. The judges found it very difficult to single out prizewinners from such a lovely collection of work, but in the end, picked out work by Toby Kinnerly, Louis Marsden and Rosie Smith. Well done, all of you.
We all have an eye on the weather and are hoping tonight will stay fine for the fair. Thanks in advance for your support. Rain or shine it should be an excellent event, judging by the preparations that are going on.
The children are busy preparing for the annual summer service, which takes place next Wednesday at 9.30a.m. Do come along if you can.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Jane Hewitt
P.S. STOP PRESS! Congratulations to Matthew, Rosie, Joe, Henry and William for their brilliant results in the Maths SATs, which we received today. 100% Level 5 !!!!!! What a fantastic achievement ? well done, all of you!
