Newsletter N0 3. Term 1, 2007/8

25th September 2007

Dear parents,

Our annual Harvest celebration takes place in the church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 10th October. Please try to come along if you can. As usual, we have invited local senior citizens to join us, too, so it should be a jolly occasion! We are collecting Harvest gifts to send to the women?s refuge in Bristol. Please send in donations of tinned, fresh or dried food, from Monday 8th onwards. Many of the children will have readings or songs to practise over the next week, so please remind them to do that. Thank you.

Our annual book fair will take place on Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, and Monday 8th October, after school. In previous years, our book fairs have been extremely well supported, enabling us to choose some lovely new books for the children to enjoy at school. Attached to this letter is a leaflet showing some of the many books which will be on sale at the fair.

We have recently received a letter of resignation from Mrs Jackie Haughton, who has been absent from school for over a year, due to long term sickness. As many of you know, Mrs. Haughton worked very hard, and has been an employee at the school for nineteen years. The staff would like to thank her and wish her well in her retirement, and are collecting for a gift. I wondered if any parents would like to contribute to this gift, or could send a card (either individually or from parents as a group). If so, please bring donations to the office by the end of next week. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Jane Hewitt
