Newsletter N0 6. Term 2, 2007/8

13th November 2007

Dear parents,

Thank you to everyone who came to our annual governors’ meeting for parents last Thursday. We were disappointed that only a small number of parents attended, but are taking that as a sign that everyone is happy with the school!

As you may recall, we did not ask for contributions to the School Fund at the beginning of term, to help Mrs. Cox administer the collection of swimming money effectively. I would now respectfully ask that you send in your contribution, to enable us to continue to purchase ‘extras’ (such as craft and cookery materials) for the children. As before, we would appreciate £1 per old term for each child, but would now like to offer you the facility to pay a one-off amount of £3 to cover the year. This will make administration easier for us and save having to ask you again.

Many of you have said how much the children are enjoying the extra clubs we are running at lunch time and after school. After Christmas, we will be offering the children a chance to take part in some drama workshops, run by a drama specialist, Louisa Ulyatt. The cost of the workshops is £3 per session. Louisa has offered to come in and do a free demonstration session, from 3.15 – 4.15 p.m. next Wednesday, 21st November, to give the children a ‘taste’ of what the sessions will be like. If you think your child would enjoy drama and they would like to come along and have a try, please sign and return the slip below. First come, first served!

As from Friday, Mrs. Hardwick will no longer be able to help us as a lunchtime supervisor, as she is starting a new job. We wish Dawn every success in her new venture, and thank her for all her hard work at the school. Obviously, we need to find a replacement supervisor, so if you are interested, please let me know. The post entails working for two days per week, from 12.50 until 1.05 p.m.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Jane Hewitt
