Newsletter N0 7. Term 2, 2007/8
26th November 2007
Dear parents,
I am pleased to report on the success of class 3’s biscuit project, which raised over £52 for Children in Need. Apart from the fund raising benefit, the project was a valuable experience for the children, from the research through to the evaluation. They engaged in lots of meaningful discussion and practical learning and had great fun designing their wares! The children worked very hard, as did Mrs. Tarplee. Congratulations to you all, and thanks very much to everyone who came along and bought biscuits – every one was sold!
Enclosed with this letter is more information about the drama workshops, which will run next term, starting on 9th January. The children who came along to the taster session seemed to have a lovely time, so I am sure this will be a popular club. Make sure you return the slip promptly to be sure of a place!
We still need to find another lunchtime supervisor, so please let me know if you are interested. The post entails working for two days per week, from 12.50 until 1.05 p.m.
Plans are in hand to look into the possibility of starting an after school club. We will be holding a meeting for all interested parents on February 5th at 7 p.m. I know that seems a long way off, but I wanted to give as much notice as possible so that you can arrange to be there if you are interested.
As last year, we are sending home information from the Student Support Centre, concerning home tuition. We are not endorsing their product (just acting as distributors), so please make your own judgement of their worth.
We are preparing a letter to inform you of all the arrangements for the Christmas events – this should be with you within the next few days.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Jane Hewitt
